Details:
Gadfly Records is proud to release "The Book Of Survival," a new collection of distinctively original songs from acclaimed songwriter/vocalist Deborah Holland.

Deborah is best known as the lead singer and songwriter of Animal Logic, a trio founded by ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland and jazz bassist Stanley Clarke. With Animal Logic, Deborah recorded two critically-lauded albums of an eclectic mix of pop, folk, rock, country, and jazz, toured all over the world, and appeared on David Letterman, The Tonight Show, VH-1 and MTV.

As a solo artist, Deborah released Freudian Slip in 1994, which was widely played on AAA, college, and public radio stations. In 1995, she was heard on the nationally syndicated radio programs Mountain Stage, The Difference with Todd Rundgren, and World Cafe. Her next recording was The Panic Is On: Songs From The Great Depression (Gadfly Records, 1997), an album of political songs from the 1930s.

Dirty Linen (Folk and World Music Magazine) wrote, "this disc contains songs of importance beautifully arranged and played." The CD is a favorite among many folk music DJs.
In addition to making records, Deborah has scored 6 films including Circuitry Man and Out There, has placed dozens of songs in films and television movies, and is a full-time Professor of Music at California State University at Los Angeles.

Deborah has returned to original material with her latest release for Gadfly, The Book of Survival. These 13 songs chronicle life's foibles, mysteries, and joys at the dawn of a new millennium.
