Astral Travel is an organic starchild collective led by 24-year-old multi-instrumentalist and San Francisco Bay Area denizen Andrew Webb Bauer. Working with angel-voiced singer Danielle Hiscock and percussionist/engineer Ryan Lotz has yielded 2 albums up to this point: "The Sound of Light", released June 2008, and "Arkangelis", released late-June 2009.
Swirling post-rock, shoe-gaze, ambient and IDM influences, Astral Travel entrances the listener into whirlpools of colorsound, sparkling with ineffable beauty, exploding with heavenly prismatic rainbows of dreamgazing, eargasmic bliss.
Crystalline guitars, pulsing, hypnotic basslines, cathedral organs, space echoes and futureverbs make love to waves of angelic vocals and ethereal, ambient washes of lushly treated, freshly picked notes from our soundgarden, birthing the frothy and delicious Astral Travel dessert of decadent delight. yummy.
"The Music You Dream To" is heavily mystical in nature---always bringing you back to your own being---and to that end, is crafted in vague lyrical and sonic reference. Heavily influenced by the teachings of Advaita Vedanta (Polaris (I Am That), Seven Candles, etc.), Christian Mysticism (*The Brightest Star, The Rapture, Walking With Wings, Arkangelis, etc.), jnana Yoga (A New Hope, etc.), and Buddhism (Arkangelis, The Prize, etc.).
We hope that the music will take you beyond it, into that indescribable place of peaceful silence.
Love,
Astral Travel
