Details:
ISAAC JAMES actually started out as a completely different band consisting of the same members minus a singer. The band was brought together by fate or by chance, but whatever the reason it worked and grew into something incredible in a very short period.
An artist with a manager in Kansas City, MO recorded a great record and needed a band to put it all together, so the manager began an exhausting search on the internet and ran across Gil Cole/lead guitarist, Joel Ekman(formerly of grammy nominated Stone Stour)/drums, and Joel's newest musician neighbor, John Lillard/bassist.
The band tried out a few other rhythm guitarists/backing vocalists before running across Chris "Blackie" Starks (formerly of Karma and Field of Grey), who was at the time doing nothing more than local shows in the St. Louis area.
All of the band members would converge in Kansas City from Wichita KS, Des Moines IA, and St. Louis, MO once a week despite the rising cost of fuel, knowing that something big was on the verge of breaking. Practices would last all weekend and the band grew really close as a family.
Unfortunately the current singer had different creative ideas than the rest of the band, and after two performances the band was ready to call it quits. That's when Gil called Blackie and asked if he'd like to continue on with the rest of the members with he as the frontman.
Immediately Blackie moved to Kansas City, MO and began the weekly commute with Gil to Joel's house in Des Moines, IA. No one could imagine the potential that was about to burst.
After only a few short months ISAAC JAMES had already written an album's worth of solid tunes, attracted industry attention worldwide, and had recorded with major label producer, Scott Spelbring. TOO MUCH HORSEPOWER is their first EP - released in June 2009.
The band ISAAC JAMES promises to bring RAW ROCK ENERGY back to the stage, reminiscent of the rock greats that we all grew up on.
