Details:
Underground Rap Music Producer, Patrick John, emerges from the concrete jungle of Honolulu with a collection of songs accompanied by some of the illest Emcees from across the nation. HEADHUNTER :: The Search for Rap Heads is a collage of some of Patrick John's sickest production - scratched, chopped and lyrically devoured by "Rap Heads" - up and coming Rap Artists HEADHUNTER has encountered on his trek from New Jersey to California, across the Pacific Ocean to Hawai'i.
HEADHUNTER begins with an eerie introduction "Guerilla Soldiers" - an intro worthy of military documentation that leads to the first track, "Battlefield." Listen to Patrick John and bad luc (of New Jersey) lyrically rip up the first track with use of rhythmical metaphors that will leave you exhausted with feelings of battle and carnage - a Soldier's adrenaline rush! After bad luc drops a bomb second verse, Patrick John leads bad luc to track two with battle scratches, until "Dun." This third song seems to be the "quiet after the storm" with Parick John toasting a solo hook over a deep sub-bassline and radar synth, but soon followed by bad luc's demented verses. The fourth track will keep your "Head Bobbin," as bad luc continues to swing his lyrical guillotine with quotes of "bodies left in pieces."
Patrick John's kick scratch leads into his "Chopin" interlude that has piano keys jingling (a play on the name of the French composer) while HEADHUNTER grinds razor-edged cuts into the drum track. He gives you enough music to get in a freestyle verse but "Everybody Know" interrupts with a thunderous intro from Adrenal1ne Brothuz, a Rap group of Samoan heritage out of Southern California. Patrick John compliments the Brothuz bone-crushing verses with a unique track that traps you in cold steel!
"West Coast Classic" reminds us that HEADHUNTER is in Califonia with his homie, West Koast Classic. Patrick brings back that West Coast funk while Classic shows off his West Coast swag! Hear the chic's whisper! The two get "On Da Grind," switching gears to hustle and get that money! West Koast Classic and Patrick John tell their tale of struggle, frustration and overall determination to make ends meet!
"Prelude to ODW" sends HEADHUNTER to the Island of Oah'u, where Patrick John meets Da Ace and Jay Deuce of Ryde Or Die Movement. Jay Deuce explodes with witty bombastic rhymes on song, "Dynamite," over bomb kicks and snapping snares! Da Ace brings the album to conclusion (or maybe an introduction to more to come) with track eleven, "Change Da Game." Da Ace is reppin' Hawai'i to the fullest with his catchy hook, strong verses, and pizzazz.
The combination of original Rap music production and tight lyrical delivery on HEADHUNTER lets everyone know that Underground Rap Music is definitely here and exploding from Hawai'i!
