PAL is Paul Adrien Le Bel, a singer/songwriter of 35 years. A lover of late â60âs & early â70âs psychodelia folk/pop/rock. PAL has written over 400 songs, 50 in collaboration with 3 other writers. PAL has performed in band or solo form over 1000 times, though does so only occasionally now. Born in Los Angeles, CA, he spent his childhood and adulthood in Maine, spending his 20âs living in Miami, Boston & Los Angeles. He now lives in a one room cabin in Maine working as a cook. He does not drive and he has no phone.

Some critique: âWhen PAL is good itâs because he forges well beyond conventional arrangements for voice and acoustic guitar.âBG
âPALâs outlook is quirky and if I can warn of anything adverse itâs that that british psychedelic sound of the first wave is prevalent, so if that doesnât put you offâ¦âBG
âThis is highly intelligent music, PALâs psychedelic folk-rock is exceptionally well crafted with layers of vocals and instrumentation painstakingly woven together to create an experience that rewards both casual and close listening.âCB
âMarika evokes the damaged elegance of Big Starâs Third Sister (Sister Lovers), then dissolves into a tripped-out segue worthy of Barrett-era Floyd before returning to the original pop structure and fading with an extended, stately outro. Ghostly vocals float above the sonic landscape grounded by guitars and spiked with xylophone and piano bits. Itâs an extremely well-composed seven minutes of psych-pop bliss.âCB
âthere are solid performances, first amongst those is the floating Rumoured and These Word (donât make no). Love Lies (like bone through skin) presents the most vivid image and is one of the most interesting songs musically. Picture Perfect sounds as if it might have escaped from the mid-60âs psychedelia.âBG
âRumoured breezes in on some lovely acoustic guitar and boasts a beautiful bridge to an edgier, heavier chorus. Like Marika, Rumoured dissolves into and out of a dreamy middle passage full of ethereal vocals, plinking percussion and sonic oddities that keep the ear entertained.âCB
âthereâs a certain insightfulness to his songs because PAL is so absorbed by his subject matter.âBG
