Paolo I. was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He has had no musical training but at age 16 he picked up his first guitar and began writing songs shortly afterwards. His self-release dance single first received airplay and club play in Mexico. Paolo I. signed a one off deal with Unidisc and saw his rap influenced track appear as a favorite in the Quebecâs DJ record pool.

He has sung in a variety of venues; from Caribbean resorts to outdoor festivals. He has appeared on recordings with various famous artists.

In addition to his talents on stage, he also enjoys writing songs. Paolo I. identifies themes, composes the lyrics, develops the melody and writes all of his works. He is also the producer for his personal blues project CD entitled âThe Pale Blue Sky Sessionsâ. He has completed a multitude of songs in a variety of styles (Pop, Rock, Romantic Ballads, blues, rap, dance etc.) and has songs licensed in 29 countries. He is a two time Juno award nominee, and has been awarded a Juno and a Certificate of Achievement award by Billboard Magazine. Paolo I.âs combined sales for Canada alone exceed the 1 million mark making him a certified diamond artist. His works have also been featured in commercials and Best Of CD Compiliations.

In addition to his musical talents, Paolo I. is an experienced actor. He has appeared in print ads (clothing), a television commercial (Heritage Canada) and live theatre shows.

He has studied sound engineering at Trebas Institute Of Recording Arts and has taken film/directing courses with professionals such as director Jeremy Podeswa (Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, etc.).

The music for his latest project âThe Pale Blue Sky Sessionsâ has received airplay throughout Canada and the United States. Artists have come forward to assist with the recordings such as Juno award winning singer Kim Richardson (Montreal Jazz Festival, Bruno Pelletier, etc), Wild T, guitarist and Juno award nominee (David Bowie, Jeff Healey, etc.) and Barry Albert, guitarist ( Bartholomew Plus Three, Life, etc.).
