Details:
Using 'Virtual Turntables' in his early teens, Philippine-born Cypriot producer Miltiadis Kyvernitis began with music by DJing at local private parties and compiling mixtapes for pool and network joints. It was only about a year later at 15 when he decided to pick up a guitar after first being introduced to Metallica's 'Ride the Lightning' album, and began experimenting the recording process using an analogue 4-track tape recorder.
Aiming to get further into the industry by increasing his knowledge on sound & music, Miltiadis joined and graduated from SAE Institute of Technology in London back in 2001.
After being part of a couple of unsuccessful bands in his teenage years, Miltiadis decided to go solo. He started working with other musicians based in Dubai, working mainly with one vocalist, Basel Anabtawi. Not having his own studio back then, Miltiadis collaborated with producer Kiran Sequeira (who produced Nervecell's 'Preaching Venom' album) to record 'Ungrateful Being', which hit National Radio in 2004. It was an instant favourite in the metal scene of the U.A.E.
Miltiadis currently works from his home-based studio (MNK Studios) as a mix and mastering engineer providing services for local bands and groups involved in different genres of music, and regularly collaborates with locally-based artists. A few of the local collaborations in his portfolio include local hip-hop duo Desert Heat, co-producing 'Future Shock' in their debut 'When the Desert Speaks' album and Audio Embassy's Kaspah, featuring in 'Dead Silence'. Miltiadis has also worked with local bands Nervecell, Juliana Down, Of Brutality and Grace, Borrison Ivy and Point of View.
'Diavatirio' is the first rock/metal collaboration project of its kind in the Middle East and features some of the best talent from the UAE music scene i.e. Basel Anabtawi, Joseph Akkawi, Zayd Raoof, Reem Raoof, Serge Lutfi (Abhorred), Kiran Sequeira, Amro Ali, hip-hop producer Lucky 'Swerte' Schild and Michael Fillon (Sandwash). The recording process of 'Diavatirio' first began in March 2006 and a total of 12 tracks make up the album, including a newly-recorded version of 'Ungrateful Being'. The content in the album vary in topic from politics to substance-abuse, and mixes with the powerful vocal delivery and explosive drumming and guitar riffage.
After 3 whole years in production, with over twelve tracks of metal and rock, 'Diavatirio' is going to be the album that people will talk about for years to come.
