This CD is dedicated to our bassist, David Sibley.
He passed on suddenly a few short weeks after recording these tracks. Dave was not only a virtuoso on upright bass, but a true gentleman and a great friend. He came to us after 38 years in New York City where he worked with many all-time greats including Sammy Davis Jr., Bob Hope,
Paul Anka, Joe Williams, Frank Sinatra Jr., Dudley Moore,
Joe Zawinul, Woody Herman, Philly Joe Jones,
Paul Desmond, Maynard Ferguson, and Buddy Rich.
David's passion for jazz was infectious and
his knowledge of the repetoire was stunning. Every note, every measure he played was like a music lesson. He knew all the original changes and brought a wealth of experience and artistry that is irreplaceable. For this and for his
friendship, we miss him much. He left behind a lovely wife and daughter, many friends and family, the admiration of his peers, and great, great music. We are truly blessed to share our memories of David in this recording. Enjoy!
