The Dead Letters are a band from the Lake District, UK whose musical influences include hard-edged alternative rock bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins & Nirvana, and also more melodic, power pop influences such as The Posies & Teenage Fanclub. Counterbalancing the heavier side there are also more introspective lyrical moments that echo such artists as Elliott Smith.

To date the The Dead Letters have had 2 tracks released on local label, Lakeland Records Ltd compilation CD's, and follow this with the EP: ....by a Thousand Cuts
The EP recorded in the remote wilderness of the Lake District with producer Guy Forrester is a snapshot of band who's early music has drawn praise from the likes of Bootleg Magazine (US), Planet Sound (Teletext/online) and even from Ken Stringfellow (Posies/REM/Big Star) who's music is a big influence on the band...
