Details:
âSlumber Babyâ is a relaxing and enjoyable compilation of lullabies from around the world. The beautiful blend of flute, harp and female voice create a continuous flow from lullaby to lullaby that both babies and their caregivers will enjoy. The album features traditional favorites such as the well-known Brahmâs lullaby, Rock-a-bye Baby, and one of Mozartâs most famous lullabies. It also includes international melodies from Italy, Germany, Japan, France and other regions around the world.
As music therapists, Kristine and Megan wanted to create a CD which promotes the therapeutic effect of music on babies. Research conducted throughout the world has demonstrated that soft lullabies using female vocalists promotes improved respiration, increased oxygen saturation levels, increased weight gain, and decreased stress behaviors in premature infants as well as âfeeders and growers.â Listening to and singing along with lullabies can also help to increase parent-infant bonding!
Kristine Frias, MT-BC is a music therapist in the metro Detroit area working with cancer patients as well as children and adults with special needs. As a flutist, Kristine enjoys performing as well as teaching and inspiring young musicians. Kristine lives with her husband, Joachin, and their Shepherd-mix, Indie.
Megan Gunnell, MSW, MT-BC has been working as an integrative psychotherapist and board certified music therapist for over a decade. She is proficient on Celtic harp, piano, guitar, viola, voice and dulcimer. Megan has enjoyed performing both in the states and abroad. Megan lives in Metro Detroit with her husband, Freeman and children, Elliott and Hannah.
The lullaby can be the first introduction a baby has to the wonderful world of music. We hope you enjoy these beautiful lullabies with a special baby in your life.
