EL PONY never had a lot while growing up in Colombia, food and work were scarce, but he was close to his family and he knew he liked school, hard-work, and music, especially Hip-Hopâ¦â¦.After school, and any chance he would get, he would listen to the radio, check out some of the Hip-Hop artistas that were in his neighborhood, and see some of the artistas performing at local places. After a while, he just kept on writing and singing trying to get his rhymes and floâs downâ¦..By the time he was 12 years old, EL PONY knew he was ready; he wanted to go the studioâ¦..EL PONY tagged himself with his own name for within this genera of more older Latin Hip-Hop/Reggaeton artistas, whom he was competing against from the valley of Cauca, there is a fast growing Colombian Hip-Hop/Reggaeton culture that describe themselves as âCoballosâ or horsesâ¦..

At a very young age EL PONYâs name became âunique; which described him as a lone âPonyâ with a lot of strength and real talent that was able to run along-side (compete and even surpass) the more mature and seasoned Hip-Hop artistas (Caballos.) The name stuck; EL PONY was so determined and driven (like a quest) that he would perform and practice wherever and whenever he couldâ¦â¦.

Two years after releasing his first single: EL PONY was already performing some of his own music at a national level, collaborating with other artistas, and venturing into other business areasâ¦â¦.2006 found EL PONY real busy with his Hip-Hop work and performances: collaborating with Dj MAÑA for his second and third singles, on a national tour with presentations in Medellin and the Valley of Cauca, club performances in Cali, Colombia where packed crowds and radio media were waiting for him (already knew him by name), performing at events put on by âRumba Estereo Bogota, The house Of Reggaeton,â and doing other clubs and appearances in the city of Caliâ¦..

In 2007 EL PONY and Dj MAÑA hook-up again and continue more work on new and more explosive urban Hip-Hop/Reggaeton music tracks for the CD:
"EN LA FUTURISTIK-CO" ( In The Future)â¦â¦.And who would later meet up with Abel Romero, CEO of Patrón Records.
