This genre-defying band features the 5 time Grammy Awardâwinning drumming of ROY "FUTUREMAN" WOOTEN, of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and electric violin virtuoso TRACY SILVERMAN, heralded by the BBC as âthe greatest living exponent of the electric violin.â Bass phenom KYLE WHALUM completes the ensemble. Roy Wooten: Known to many as Futureman and best known for his many years as the electronic and acoustic percussionist with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. The winner of 5 Grammy awards, Royʼs innovative work spans many musical genres, including numerous compositions for symphony orchestra, collaborations with ballet and innovations in the creation of new electronic musical instruments. Roy is the leader of "The Black Mozart Ensemble".

Tracy Silverman: Lauded by the BBC as âthe greatest living exponent of the electric violinâ, Juilliard graduate Tracy Silverman's groundbreaking work with the 6-string electric violin is the product of an odyssey from classical music through rock and world music and back to classical again. Recording artist/ composer Silverman has worked with a who's-who of rock, pop, new music, and jazz, including Pulitzer winning composer John Adams, who composed his electric violin concerto, âThe Dharma at Big Surâ, specifically for Tracy and which they recorded together for Nonesuch Records with the BBC Symphony. Silverman was first violinist with the ground-breaking Turtle Island String Quartet and tours internationally as a solo performer when not playing with Eclectica. Tracy teaches jazz violin at Belmont University.

Kyle Whalum: Originally from Memphis, Kyle is the son of jazz sax star Kirk Whalum and at the young age of 25, is now one of Nashvilleʼs top session bassists. Kyle has been the musical director and touring bassist for James Otto and has also toured with Booker T and the MGʼs and with his band, The Wailin Canes.
