Indie space rock at it's finest. Bombastic guitars, distorted basslines, and driving percussion set the backdrop for sharp lyrics and unconventional melodies. Highly recommended for anybody who remembers when 'alternative' meant something.
12 MP3 Songs in this album (35:59) !
Related styles: ROCK: Experimental Rock, ROCK: Space Rock
People who are interested in Pixies Queens of the Stone Age Secret Machines should consider this download.

"...the amazing ability to bridge the best parts of early college radio rock with modern pop experimentation. Highly recommended for anybody who remembers when 'alternative' meant something."
- Phoenix New Times
"Emperors of Japan have honed their distinctive post-rock sound to near perfection."
- College Times
"Somehow the Emperors manage to sound like they're jamming in a garage down the street and on one of the solar system's outlying gas giants at the same time. They're familiar in that indie rock way, but on all tracks can be found the spacedust of experiments gone right."
- Albuquerque Alibi
Emperors of Japan bring their unique blend of indie-space rock back to the forefront with their third full-length album, Ice Queen. Influenced by bands like the Pixies, Radiohead, and Queens of the Stone Age, the Emperors layer their music with epic guitars, distorted basslines, and huge drums.
Unlike their previous two efforts, Ice Queen mostly ditches synthesized effects for a more raw, live sound. The group sticks to their experimental roots by incorporating straight-up ridiculous guitar sounds and the occasional computer generated interlude.
The Emperors incorporate quirky pop sensibility into an aggressive rock construct. Lyrically, they take aim at politics, religion, and society with songs like âPapercutsâ and âFaggotâ â a driving equal-rights anthem.
Emperors of Japan tour regularly throughout the U.S. Complete tour schedules, along with album reviews, photos, blogs, and general misinformation about the band can be found online at www.emperorsofjapan.com or www.myspace.com/emperorsofjapan.
