Philadelphia based singer, songwriter, and pianist, Gina Kaz, explores the piano and voice with an explosion of energy, emotion, and guts. Classically trained, Kaz utilizes her skill to set the tone for each song. She uses her unique style to express an intense, strong, feminine sound that captivates her listeners.

Gina's musical sound envelopes many influences from classical compositions of Schumann and Puccini to the World music of India and Africa. Her voice embraces the power and freedom of vocalists like Bjork and Joni Mitchell, while her piano is reminiscent of that of Tori Amos.

Gina Kaz started playing the piano when she was just 8 years old. She sang in grade school choirs and plays and by the time she was 10 years old was composing music. She continued to perform in the theater throughout high school and college, while at the same time studying classical piano which included a four year stint at the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music in Philadelphia.

In 1997, Kaz graduated from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA with a BS in Music Therapy. Directly out of college she worked as a Music Therapist working with the terminally ill. This experience inspired her to open her mind and expand her writing, and has been significant in developing her style.

By age 24 Gina was ready to move on to a professional career in music. Her adventure began in Asheville, NC, where the community embraced her sound. Her success in Asheville gave her the support to set out to win over new audiences, so she drove North where she continues to cultivate her career.

In Philadelphia Gina's musical career continues to SOAR! Her songs have been played on the Gene Shay Show at WXPN in Philadelphia, and WD1Y in Allentown, and has had her music used in 2 films (one short film, "Time of your Life" and a feature length film entitled, "Small Town" by an independent filmmaker in London, England), and has been touring throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and in London. She is full of energy and passion and believes in seeing the world with music.

Gina has now hooked up with amazing musicians to rock hard as a band. woohoo! Tim Karsten on drums and Jon Roberds on bass- very talented dudes who play like animals and take Gina's music to new degrees of intensity. The trio creates a huge sound and loves to leave audiences breathless. They have recorded "Decipher" in 6 days and are proud to share it with the world. It is only the beginning for this band!
