Details:
Warning: Extremely Lyrical. This is the description that comes to mind after listening to Nicholaus Caesar, The Prince of the Midwest, rap for the first time. Through his voice you can sense his demand for respect. Above all, his lyrical content is astonishing. âIâm in a league of my ownâ, say Nicholaus Caesar about his music career. Iâm not worried about what nobody else is doing. I really donât care. I do me, which is making good music, set flame to any beat coming my way, and handling business as far as the industry is concerned. In the street, im a goonâ, he states with an intimidating cocky demeanor. This is the type of attitude he obtained through his troubled childhood while growing up on Chicagoâs Southside. Nicholaus Caesar was born on March 13, 1985 in South Chicago Hospital and since then has been bred to survive. Through living in many shelters, housing projects, attending 68 different elementary schools, and residing in Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Chicago, Riverdale, Harvey, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Springfield, East Saint Louis, St. Louis, and Kansas City, is the reason why he wears the crown as Prince of the Midwest. Though his flow is respectfully dominating, his demeanor and cocky persona are intimidating, which is what he wants to bring to the rap game. âNowadays rappers are loud talking, yelling, and for the most part woofing and talking bullshit. Iâm trying to highlight other issues that happen. I want to make music with substance that people can relate to everywhere. Iâm a different kind of guy, so you can expect me to make different kind of music. He also admits to casually focusing on more hood lyrics through his mixtapes. With a smile on his face he states, âIâm that fucking dude. No talking and causing attention type shit, just do it. Periodâ, Caesar admits. Could you really expect anything less from someone who grew up in a city where Al Capone, Larry Hoover, and other street influential people overwhelmed the streets. His fury within the industry is fueled by the lack of respect he feels the industry has for the Midwest. Hip-Hop originated on the east coast, went to the west, back east, now itâs down south. As opposed to giving the Midwest a shot to bring hip-hop as we once knew it back to the fore front, everyone is looking back toward the east. Caesar calmly states with a sly smile, âthatâs the part that pisses me off because they trying to ignore the beast in the middle of the map. We the heart and soul of the country and im about to make that knownâ.
