New Railroad has existed in some form for the past three years under different names and with various members but always with the core of Jessica Watson, Josh Philpott, and Ben Bateson. Finally, in the winter of 2008 New Railroad with its current members was created. New Railroad brings traditional Oldtime music together with elements of Bluegrass, Jazz, Folk, Indie, and Classical music to create a sound all their own. Rich melodies, strong rhythm, and ingenious instrumentation lend themselves to something brand new and very different then what is heard among their contemporaries. Beginning in May of 2008, New Railroad set out to record their first full length CD in Nashville, TN. Josh Philpott, Tyler Andal, and Ben Bateson are all award winning musicians on the state and national level. This combined with Jessica Watson's passionate and beautiful vocals and Tyler Lowe's rock solid bass playing creates a wonderful sound scape for anyone who appreciates good music.
