No wave. A playful reaction to over-commercialization of New Wave.
5 MP3 Songs in this album (15:18) !
Related styles: ROCK: No Wave, NEW AGE: Progressive Alternative
People who are interested in The Cure XTC Squeeze should consider this download.
Details:
Noise was formed in nineteen-eighty. Though we were big fans of "new wave" music, coming from a Southern setting more like Mayberry USA (Eastern Tennessee) it was difficult to relate to the passions of the time in the same way as someone involved in the New York punk scene would (for instance). Besides, even punk was becoming rather commercial at that time. Anyhow, my material was more on the order of tongue-and-cheek and several upstate DJ's referred to this as "no wave". Fine, we said, we're "no wave" then. These tracks were recorded in analog most certainly in the year of our lord (Iggy Pop) nineteen-eighty. We hope you enjoy this EP.
