Details:
Harley Brumbaugh â Leader, Trumpet, Vocals â Performing with top Northwest dance bands since the age of 14, including Jackie Souders, Archie Kyle, Pep Perry, and the Many Sounds of Nine. Harley organized his own group 35 years ago as a Quintet. It grew to a sextet in the 90âs and became the Horns Aâ Plenty shortly after. Harley is famous for his tribute to Louis Armstrong on trumpet and vocals.

Jerry McManus â Vocals, Trombone â Received his training at CWU, and earned his reputation as a singer and trombonist with the Many Sounds of Nine Orchestra. Jerry has been a first call sideman with a number of Northwest bands Including the Boogie Blues, Terry King, and Ronnie Pierce bands, and his own outstanding 70âs group, the Jerry Mac Quintet.


Dale Gleason â Trombone, Vocals â Dale sang with an early vocal jazz group, the Axidentals II while at the UW, where he learned the Bass Guitar. He learned to sing solo with the Gloria Gene Trio in the 70s, and by listening to Jerry in the Many Sounds of Nine. He replaced him in that group in 1973, joined the Boogie Blues in 1979 on Bass, then joined Harleyâs group in the 90âs as its second trombonist/vocalist. He taught at BCC for 31 years.

Bruce Hall â Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet â A talented composer, Bruce is a first-call woodwind performer with early training from John Moawad both at Nathan Hale HS and CWU. He was our first-call sub when we worked as a sextet. He also performs regularly with Dave Holo at the New Orleans Tavern in Seattle, and maintains a full schedule of woodwind students.



Bill Sander â Keyboards â Bill has played with Harleyâs groups since its inception 35 years ago. He also performed with the 560th Air Force Band, Bathtub Gin Party Band, Fred Radke Quartet, Ralph Dickinson Orchestra and 20 years with the Many Sounds of Nine. He served as Music Director for the Miss Issaquah Pageant and taught for the Issaquah School District for 30 years.




John Giuliani hails from Renton HS and CWU, and has played Bass for Harleyâs groups since their inception. Though not featured on this album, John also plays accordion regularly with the group. He also plays with the MOJO Jazz Orchestra, the Magnolia Jazz Band, and the Quartet of Four, and is a first-call bassist in the Seattle area.



Dave Hoskin â Drums Dave is a recent addition to the group, replacing Mick Fenske who moved to Texas. A Washington native, Dave attended Green River CC and CWU. After College, he moved to Auburn where he works as a librarian with Auburn School District. He also performs with the Quartet of Four with John, and is a frequent sub with many Seattle area groups.
