Modern Rock
1 MP3 Songs in this album (3:41) !
Related styles: ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Classic Rock
Details:
Hip Kitty is truly a one of a kind rock band that is exploding on the radar. Their sound is fresh, innovative and energized. Bringing songs to life in a way that light a city, but also a talent capacity that converts a new listener to a fan in the time it takes to form an opinion.
Jen Halverson, lead vocalist, with no question defines a âTrue front person.â A sexy, commanding presence along with a vocal powerhouse, all nicely wrapped around an honest, girl next door personality, make her a rare and desired talent. Lead guitarist, Mike Goncalves, born and raised in New Jersey, leaves no doubt to his ability and his influences as theyâre alive in his playing. Drummer, Arick Seal, keeps Hip Kitty locked down with a tight, heavy foundation all without compromising the flash that stands competitive to any great rock drummer icon.
From Key West, FL to Anchorage, AK, Hip Kitty has played venues across the nation performing more than 250 shows a year while establishing a loyal âKat Krewâ of fans along the way. Taking on the label as one of Disneyâs top bands, they also worked with Disney Entertainment playing for their corporate and private events. In 2008, Hip Kitty was selected to join the roster of artists performing for the military AFE (Armed Forces Entertainment). Recent tours include shows in Curacao, Honduras, and Puerto Rico. Hip Kitty has also had the pleasure of participating in the MWR (Morale, welfare, and recreation) division of the United States Armed Forces, performing for their military installations. They consider it an honor to serve their country through their music.
They have done show openings for legends such as Alice Cooper, Scorpions, and REO Speedwagon, as well as national acts Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Saliva, and Seether to name a few.
Between concert dates, Hip Kitty remains writing and compiling tracks for their next album. The 2008 release of their album, âThe Art of War,â has landed the group significant radio airplay; reaching listeners on Cumulus and Clear Channel stations around the nation as well as several online music providers. Along with radio, the band has made several TV appearances on shows like WKYC TV3âs âGood Companyâ Cincinnati, OH, and WLBT âMidday Mississippiâ Jackson, MS.
Hip Kitty finds their greatest musical influence in bands like Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Kiss
In addition to being a nationally known rock band, they also focus on charitable causes for many organizations. Their work with the Hattie Larlham Foundation, which is dedicated to providing services to children and adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities, won them the 2005 Humanitarian award from the state of Ohio. Another organization that Hip Kitty is honored to support is the Dane foundation.
âIt is not often that people give of themselves just becauseâ says Lowery Lockard, CEO, The Dane Foundation. âBut the rock band Hip Kitty is a prime example of giving. Their true gift is the love and compassion they have for people with disabilities.â
Hip Kitty is also hoping to further animal cruelty awareness through local and national organizations such as the National Humane Society of the United States.
Hip Kitty definitely brings âThe old school to the new school.â True with tunes everyone can relate to, Hip Kitty will deliver to the masses of all age groups. Their music gives you a sense of who they are and their performance proves they are a one of a kind, refreshing change in todayâs industry.
ALL AROUND, IN YOUR FACE, SUPER SEXY, GREAT AMERICAN ROCK!
