Henry Jeff Davis started playing the saxophone at the age 10 and in the 4th grade where he played baritone sax and doubling on tenor sax. He continued studying music through high school where his first love is playing the alto and soprano saxophones. He attended college as a full time student for contemporary jazz while playing with a band part time. He was influenced to play the sax by his father an avid jazz fan and his personal friend the late Cootie Williams trumpet player for the Duke Ellington Band. He is currently playing in the church, with his love for gospel music giving it a touch of a jazz flavor. His album Songs Of Inspiration gives you that ballad of hymns with a little jazz twist. His style is of a Najee, and Grover Washington touch. He is currently studying under the profession of the Superwoman of jazz Sue Terry who is a great benefit to his music life. He expands his musical career to suit all phases of music.
