After playing bluegrass music in the Northern Virginia area for a few years. I had the pleasure of meeting David McLaughlin, one of the founding members of the "Johnson Mountain Boys" and a superb mandolinist as well as an all around musician. Also meeting up with Marshall Wilborn, one of the best bass palyers in the country, now playing with Micheal Cleveland and the Keeper of the Flames. I also was able to hook up with Red Henry, of the "Murphy Method," a fine fiddle player and Mark Clifton, a very talented resphonic guitar player, now playing with Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band. I was fortunate to have these wonderful musicians, as well as good friends, set in with me on my first solo CD.
I only wished my wife "T" could have lived long enough to hear the final product of my Cd. I lost her to Lung Cancer June 2008. That is why the lyrics of a couple of my originals mean so much to me. I just never dreamed I'd be living the lyrics to some of my songs that I wrote.
As I have said before. Each day take the time for that special person in your life, whether it be a loved one, a family member, or a close friend. Hold them close and tell them how much you love them and how "blessed" you are that they are in your life. I only say this because a time will come when you will feel you didn't do this enough and you will wish you could do it one more time. I know.
