Music to scare normal people and get a wide berth in all your travels
15 MP3 Songs in this album (51:46) !
Related styles: AVANT GARDE: Electro-Acoustic, SPIRITUAL: Spirituals
People who are interested in Pork Bullet Art Weevils should consider this download.
Details:
This is the second CD release by Music From The Film (Gary Young and Arthur Harrison). Two years in the making, these recordings sat for a while.
World War Tree is not as busy as its predecessor, Playfully Abrasive, but incorporates the same formula. The introduction of an Ice Bucket / Rubber Band Guitar and an oscillating fan finds its way to this disc, and a new feline vocalist (Poco Amorleon) makes his debut.
About the music sample sources:
âGold Doesnât Grow on Treesâ incorporates parts of two phone calls recorded from the Home Shopping Network in 1993. Music From The Film knows that everybody should have at least 3 gold chains, preferably more, but gold chains don't grow on trees, and you have to be paying attention to your TV, or you will miss out!
âA Matter of Tasteâ incorporates a poem by Eve Merriam, and the track âBikeâ uses a poem by Lois Lenski.
The track âErnest Savesâ uses excerpts taken from the television syndication of the Ernest Angley Ministries crusade to Guyana in 2007. Ernest would pull a member from the audience (paid in vanilla wafers) who claimed to be unable to speak and suffer deafness in one or both ears. While grabbing them by the head or ear and saying the word âBaby,â the recipient of the âhealingâ would try to mimic his words. Then Ernest would claim he had healed them of their problems through Jesus Christ. It was a very surreal crusade, with Ernest ultimately claiming to have the power to cure AIDS, kidney failure, arthritis, and other horrible human afflictions. He took these crusades to Africa and other poverty-stricken regions, shamelessly exploiting people in the name of his religion, all the while making it public on his syndication network. So, while it is a rather spooky piece, it is also very sad.
See inside CD cover for a track-by-track breakdown of instrumentation.
