Ms. Joyce, like most singers grew up singing in church in her hometown of Jackson, Ms. After living in Mississippi and Alabama several years and going through a harsh divorce, she moved to the Bayou in Louisiana where she found life to be very simple and enjoyable. But, had to return to assist her ill mother who later died. However,through it all, Ms. Joyce has learned to sing the blues just as she has been molded into the individual she is now- a Mississippi-Louisiana black woman "hooping" her blues as she trancends her feelings through her musical tones to every facet of her audiences' body.
