Details:
The artist magic john was born and raised up in berlin-friedrichshain.
He grow up most of the time at his grandmother's house.
His grandmother was a famous heeler and herbs doctor.
With the knowledge, that she teached him about herbs and nature he discovered the forrests of his hometown.
As he grows up he had a lot of interessts for diffent cultures.
The indian-american culture inspired him so much, that he wanted to see america.
His age and the political situation did'nt let this happened, but he promised himself, one day he will travel to america.

After his highschool he lerned the occupation of chef-cooking .
He was a peace-movement activis and his political view let him fight against the systemt.

Problems with the police and the secret service (STASI) let him come to the point, that his life in the GDR was in danger .
He planned to leave the country illegal.
He traveled from berlin to humgary cross the border of romania and reached bulgaria.
In the mountains of dragoman he was catched and brought back to east-berlin.
The gouvernment put him for two years in prison.
After eleven months the west-german-gouvernment got him out of jail.

Arrived in west-berlin he don't lived so long there, because he wanted to follow his dream of america.

Only with a couple of dollars and a flight-ticket in his pocket magic john traveled to america.
In the next three years he lived in new york, boston and chicago and worked as a chef in many famous restaurants.

1989 magic john looked the evening news on cnn, where there reported over the fall of the berlin wall.
This world-changing event let him go back to germany.
As the euphoric mood of the reunion cooled down, magic john changed his place of residence to ghana in west-africa.
There he lived a few months in the house of a powerful medicine-man in a village near by kumasi.
So he came in touch with the cultur and music of africa.
Magic John discovered the whole country and stay a longer time in bolgatanga.
There he was intitationed in the mystery and magic of the frafra-tribe.
After his return to germany he settle down in in a town middle in blackforrest.
In his free time he liked to cruised his motorbike.
But in the year 1993 a terrible accident was happened - magic john lost his right leg.
In a long medical rehabilitation process magic john started played guitar to over come his accident-trauma.
In the following years he played in a couple of bands and acustic-projects.
His singing talent was discovered by a band member and from then he has to take the vocal parts of the band.
Short before the millenium, magic john traveled again back to west-africa to produced a local reggae-band.
Through him the band became the chance to record a live-album.

Back in germany, magic john produced with the help of ralf greiner , the ownwer of the ''recording-zone-studio'' his first own song ''free falling''.
September 2001 he travel to accra to work with ghanian musicans on his next cd.
He had the possibility to go on a concert-tour with nana finn and other famous artists - it was a total success.
At the king's recording studio in thema he composed and arranged 12 songs like ''she has gone'', ''out of the darkness'' and ''don't you worry'' for his next album .
During the recording-process he became the message, that his grandmother are very sick, so he took the next airplane back to berlin to see her.
He decided to sell his arpartement in rheinfelden near the swiss boarder and rented a apartement in berlin to be near his grandmother.
He could'nt get back to africa for finishishing the cd.


Over a friend he got in contct with the musican and producer dirk schlömer.
With his help he arranged his actually cd ''secret place'' wich contains 11 songs.

After a creative phase ... magic john is now working on his next project!
