Grazie ad un' intensa attività live, i MEXCAL, diventano ben presto una realtà nel panorama delle bands emergenti. Partecipano a Arezzo Wave, esibendosi in tutta Italia per lâArezzo Wave On The Rocks Tour. La band ha suonato sui palchi dei clubs più in vista di Berlino ed al fianco di artisti come: 24 grana, LâAura, Avion Travel, Omar Pedrini, Mauro Pagani, Francesco Renga, Tony Levin, Elio e le Storie Tese, Antonella Ruggiero, Negramaro e molti altri. Hanno suonato come headliners per il âSaturday Night Liveâ al Rolling Stone di Milano e a Ferrara nell'ambito del Risuono Festival. Nel febbraio 2007 i Mexcal sono chiamati a partecipare ai "Sanremo Music Awards" . Nel maggio 2007 Il maestro Lucio âViolinoâ Fabbri li seleziona personalmente per la rassegna âPremio canzone dâautoreâ. Nel luglio 2007 ricevono, come miglior band, il prestigioso âPremio Luneziaâ, conferito al valore musicale e letterario delle canzoni e si aggiudicano il riconoscimento tributato dalla rassegna âStars Voicesâ. Si sono esibiti, sui palchi di âSanremOff 08â e della âNotte Biancaâ, richiesti dal direttore artistico della città di Sanremo, Pepi Morgia e a luglio, sono stati ospiti del âPremio Lunezia 2008â, invitati da Stefano De Martino, patron della manifestazione, esibendosi accanto a âElio e le Storie Teseâ e ai âNegramaroâ. Partecipano il 3 dicembre al âPremio Pigro 08â, fortemente voluti dalla Signora Anna Graziani, organizzatrice della manifestazione dedicata a Ivan Graziani.
