Jerrod Harris grew up on the streets of East Baltimore, Maryland with his mother Linda Harris, his older brother Justan Harris, and his grandmother Louise Eldridge. He entered the drug dealer lifestyle and began writing music at the age of 15. He began recording those lyrics to music by the age of 16. He continued to find his place in musical history by performing at various venues throughout the tri-state area. He has recorded various collaborations with other local artists, DJâS, and mixtapes. In 2002, he built his own recording studio and began to produce his own tracks. By 2005, he began recording, mixing, and pre-producing his own songs. By 2008, he dropped his former hipâhop alias âMaximillionâ and began to use his very own name Jerrod Harris. By doing so his music took on a different message and identity. After all of his trials and tribulations Jerrod Harris has now given his life over to God and is not only pursuing his music career full-time, but he is also working on his bachelorâs degree at Morgan State University. He states, âMy music now is not about the glorification of the gangsta in me, but more about being true to God, myself, the life that I live, and letting my music speak for itself. This is a life changing hip-hop, not a life taking hipâhop.â In the summer of 2009, Jerrod Harris is set to release his highly anticipated debut album entitled âGANGSTA II GODLYâ. His debut album will feature the following guests: Dr. Jamal HarrisonâBryant, Ibneza Smith, FâSeries, and Manolo. The album singles are entitled âI Amâ, âKingâ, âA Changing Manâ, and âVirtuous Womanâ.
