High profile veterans of the adult alternative pop/rock scene, Tony Morosini and Carv Tefft have joined forces to create this full length, all original 10 song CD. Traces of grunge, punk, classic rock and pop are easily identified in this impressive debut from Trez Rek 500, yet they manage to own a unique sound that's doggone hard to classify. Lead singer Carv Tefft's trademark "kick down the door" dynamics may have softened up a bit, but his distinctive tone and song interpretation are the glue which holds this offering appealingly together.

The yeoman's effort award goes to Mr. Morosini, who plays the drums, guitar, bass, and yes, even surprises us with some gritty vocals. From the album's opener, "Australia," (I know, we're still trying to figure out what the song has to do with the title,) each successive track seems to top the other, despite the graceful shift from no nonsense rockers to unapologetic pop that occurs with the startlingly well crafted "Credit." In "Blender," Morosini's evocative lyrics: It's Saturday in September/As she's waiting for the blender/To tell her it's ok to come upstairs, had me daydreaming of Indian summers and frozen margaritas. This trio of luscious, acoustic based pop numbers culminates in an eponymous toe-tapping, dare I say, dance/funk party that's hard to leave.

When TR 500 turns over their final cards, their fans will instantly recognize the power chords and aggressive leads that these two have made a living on in past lives, and no one should go away disappointed.
