Biography â The Hannafords


Craig and Auriol Hannaford are an acoustic duo, who performs their original blend of rootsy folk and country/bluegrass.
Over the last four years, theyâve performed their music, at a variety of venues
including folk clubs, pubs and cafés.
Craigâs unusual rhythmic guitar style will make your ears prick up and listen.
Auriolâs rich, earthy vocals will take you on a journey through the world as they see it!
The original sound created in their songs will have you toe tapping whilst their grounded and insightful lyrics will take you by surpriseâ¦

Their album, ânot from âround hereâ was recorded in Autumn of 2008 by Hugh Mc Donald at his own studio. Hugh, of âRedgumâ fame also plays accompanying instruments on the album as well as providing backing vocals.

Auriol was recently nominated for Best Female Vocal for the song âWalkinââ in the Victorian and National Country Music Awards held in conjunction with the Whittlesea Country Music Festival.

Two of The Hannafords songs, Somebodyâs Leaving and The Tide have reached the final of the Roddy Read Memorial Song writing Contest held at the Maldon Folk Festival in 2005 and 2007 respectively.
