Music is not simply a hobby; you could call it a passion for Brent Baker. Playing guitar was something that came easy for Brent, and the draw to the stage has been in his blood since the first time he put a pick to the strings.

Brentâs musical career started in Joplin Missouri where he played electric guitar for some of the local âhair bandsâ of the late 1980âs. His musical roadmap took the path that many musicians strive for, and ultimately put him on the road touring on a regular basis with a regionally performing rock group as well as the Christian rock group, Sudden Storm.

Fast forward to 2003, and a new direction on the musical map. While you can still see a fire in his eyes when he picks up his electric guitar and cranks up the distortion, Brentâs musical tastes have taken a slightly different turn. Country music is now his main focus and Brent has set his sights on reaching his personal goals with his new favorite genre of music. Around this time, Brent was approached to play bass for the Kountry Kuzins Jamboree, a Branson style musical variety show located in Grove Oklahoma. Once on the stage his many musical talents were put to use. Brent played bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and sang lead male vocals as well as showing off his versatility and vocal range adding the high tenor part to the menâs quartet which performed country and gospel favorites.

A new direction and a lot of hard work have allowed Brent to reach the Missouri state finals of the Colgate Country Showdown, a national country music talent search, two of the last three years. Brent has also had the good fortune to share the stage with country music artists such as Tracy Lawrence, Joe Diffie, as well as recurring performances at Toby Keithâs âI Love This Bar And Grillâ.

A talented songwriter as well, Brent has recently had numerous cuts, from his early writing days, placed on a new CD project of a popular regional rock group. In 2005 Brent released his first CD project titled âGiddy Upâ. This CD contains all original music written and arranged by Brent and recorded in his personal studio. Brentâs first release âGiddy Upâ, the title cut of the project, is receiving rave reviews from local and regional country music radio. You can currently find Brentâs music on sale thru numerous
