This is a 1937 recording of Sir Henry Woods arrangement of five pieces by Henry Purcell into a suite for full orchestra. They are:
1. Prelude from Act 3 of Diodesian, 2. Minuet from Distressed Innocence, 3. Largo from Sonata for strings no 5, 4. Song of the Birds from Tinon of Athens and 5. Vivace from Sonata for strings No. 1. In this recording Sir Henry Wood conducts the Queens Hall Orchestra as reformed for his Decca recordings by George Stratton.
