Details:
Bonnie Nichols is a singer/songwriter from Soldotna, Alaska. She is published on two Grammy-finalist childrenâs albums; âA Childâs Gift of Lullabyes,â and âSnuggle Up; A Gift of Songs for Sweet Dreams,â with J. Aaron Brown of Nashville, TN.

She is a recipient of a Wolf Trap Silver Medallion Award for a childrenâs project, âHunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta-Bed,â written and recorded with Katherine Dines of Denver, Co. One of her contributions, âDino-Storyâ has been published in Sing 2006 a songbook and CD for school children in Australia.

She has also been recognized at the state and national level for her contributions of music related to the healthcare field. Her song, âNew Beginningâ included on her latest release titled Iâve Got Something To Say, was written to highlight her experience with organ/tissue donation and âKids Otter Be Immunizedâ was written for the State of Alaskaâs childhood immunization campaign. She also won the first Alaska Public Radio Song of the Year contest in 1997 for her song, âShe Donât Hear the Thunderâ describing a woman who found her way through a relationship riddled with domestic violence. Bonnie has also been honored by the State of Alaska as a First Ladyâs Volunteer of the Year.

Iâve Got Something to Say is a collection of songs; each of which contains a powerful message. While weâve all struggled with our involvement in the war, Bonnie wrote a love song to our troops titled, âRed, White and Blue.â Months after the 2004 tsunami disaster in Asia, she tried to explore the meaning of âGraceâ in our everyday lives. Watching her son raise his children inspired her to write âFamily Matters.â In âTurn the Quiet Up,â Bonnie writes from her heart about the need to slow down and reconnect with those we love. When she lost her husband to a sudden heart attack, she wrote âNew Beginningâ to honor him and to describe her experience with organ and tissue donation.

When not performing and writing, she works as a hospital Marketing and Public Relations Director.
