Kirk and Joni Bovill started Keepin' It Real 4 Jesus (KIR4J, www.kir4j.com) Ministries in 1999 to break down barriers that are spiritual, racial, generational, and educational in today's society. They have ministered around the country in church services, concerts, couples & singles retreats, on radio and television programs and even at tent revivals.

Bringing the good news of the Gospel to God's people in a musical format that is raw, real and relevant.

Biographical Information:
Kirk and Joni bring uniqueness to their ministry in the fact that they are an interracial couple.
"It's just one way that God uses us in our ministry," Joni said, "We immediately get people's attention because we appear different than what they are expecting, but that is how God uses us to break down barriers."

Kirk and Joni are finalizing plans for the April 2003 release of their second CD entitled Are You Ready.. Their critically acclaimed debut CD, The Kirk Bovill Project "Love So Real" has received radio airplay around the country over the past year. The single "Worship You" is making its way across the country on a compilation disk that is being distributed by Embassy Music out of Nashville. Kirk is the creative catalyst behind the music, having written all of the songs on the CD. Joni provides the rich gospel influences of her roots growing up in Mississippi. Her older brother Henry Green, is one of the trio of singers that make up the multi-Grammy nominated group, The Williams Brothers.

Joni has been blessed with a large loving family that saved up their pennies to enable her to become the first in her family to finish college, completing a B.S. degree at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Joni has since added a master's degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

"Sometimes people just lose hope and give up on their dreams. Poverty has a way of stealing your joy and stripping you of confidence," said Joni. "I was blessed to have parents that raised me up believing in a God that provides, knowing that I can do all things through Christ. I am a walking miracle and a representation of what God can do in your life when you let Him take control."

Kirk answered an altar call in 1996 and hasn't looked back since. The transition in his life is reflected in his song writing, which captures the essence of being real about your relationship with Christ. Kirk has degrees from the University of Nebraska and Louisiana State University.

"It doesn't matter if we are in front of 4,000 people or 10, we will always bring the 'noise' about the Good News," added Kirk. "It isn't about the recognition, it's about reaching out to people and helping them look to God for answers."

Kirk and Joni represent true love and joy with every opportunity that they have to minister.
