This movie is set in a small town in the Ozarks. A Schoolteacher in the town campaigns to stop the practice of young, underage girls being married to older men. The producers claimed it was an attempt to draw attention to the lack of Laws prohibiting child marriage throughout the Country. The Movie was very controversial for its subject matter and for showing twelve year old actress Shirley Mills nude during a skinny dipping scene.
