"Middle Eastern stories to mend a broken world"
They say that a story is the shortest distance between two hearts. There is no way to hate someone if you understand his stories. So, let us take a short time out and listen to those tales.
An Evening With Grandpa Abe and Uncle Ahmet has been performed in libraries, concert halls, coffee houses and falafel joints from Boston to Pittsburgh. My deepest hope is to perform it in Synagogues and Mosques to audiences who do not usually listen to stories. As Abe and Ahmet might say, âwithout one another we are all out of luck.â
Bob Reiser is a storyteller, a teacher and an award-winning author of books for children and adults. He has performed at concerts, schools and festivals throughout the country.
Recently he has been featured at the Hudson River Clearwater Festival, Pittsburghâs Three River Festival, Rhode Islandâs Johnny Cake Festival and Albanyâs Riverway Festival. His most recent book, David Gets His Drum, is published by Marshall Cavendish Inc. His adult books include Carry it On and Everybody Says Freedom, written with Pete Seeger.
