From the second Rhett Garcias vocals drop into Follow Me the opening track on their new CD Pull the Trigger it is obvious that Bait means business. Going into the studio late in 2005, the boys of Bait wanted to raise the bar for music coming not only out of the region, but out of the United States in general. Shying away from the trends of agro rock and hardcore, Bait infused hard rock with powerful melodies and now gives us a taste of what has made their live shows so memorable.

With such diverse tastes in music, it was a challenge finding a middle ground where all of our talents and styles could meld, but I think we have done just that, says guitarist Kedo Matthews. The last album (2004âs cåin/dis/åble) did not have the energy our live shows have. Pull the Trigger has it in spades.

Produced by Zac Maloy (The Nixons, Midwest Kings), Pull the Trigger is well produced without the sterility often found in studio rock albums. An intense and unrelenting record, Pull the Trigger has an introspective side as well. One song, in particular, deals with the horrors of abuse and the effect it has on the human spirit. I saw the movie The Butterfly Effect. I was so moved by the abuse that I saw, in the film, that I went home and started writing the song Locked, says vocalist Rhett Garcia. I had never experienced, personally, anything like that and felt it was an issue not often addressed.

With screaming guitars, bombastic drums and powerful vocals Bait unleashes the first album in their three disc opus. The Traitor Odium Anthology will be unveiled over the course of 2006 and 2007. It is now time to take aim, ease the hammer back, and Pull the Trigger
