ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
Blue Judy is a four-piece indie pop rock band from Los Angeles with a flair for intense melodies over upbeat, danceable arrangements. Singer Gustavo Galindo, guitarist Joe Walker, and bassist Luke Benedum met and started the band while attending college in Claremont, CA. Following the success of fellow Claremont-brewed indie acts We Are Scientists and Speechwriters LLC, they decided to take the band seriously after graduating. A change in the drum seat brought recent music school grad Brian Zarlenga on board, completing the band and setting the stage for an exciting future.

In April 2006, Blue Judy finished recording their second self-released effort, "The Common and Continual Mischiefs." The album was produced by Heroes and Villains, a tag team of producers Dan Burns (Tommy Lee, Michelle Branch) and Billy Mohler (The Calling, Jimmy Chamberlin Complex). Featuring five original songs, the EP showcases Galindo's uniquely addictive voice, a dual-guitar-driven sound that brings to mind influences like The Strokes and The Arcade Fire, and a songwriting maturity well beyond their years.

Since they started gigging frequently in 2005, Blue Judy has been attracting attention from a number of sources. Their live show has received praise from a slew of publications, including Music Connection Magazine. Their music was recently featured in Elan Gale's short film, "Tomorrow's Yesterday," which has been creating a buzz at film festivals all over the country.

Blue Judy has performed throughout Los Angeles at venues like House of Blues, The Viper Room, and The Mint, and they continue to develop a loyal fan base stemming from a faction of long-time supporters in Claremont. With the release of "The Common and Continual Mischiefs," they are ready to hit the road and expand their territory.
