Hard edged indie rock

5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
4 guys (2 twin brothers) from Rochester/Ithaca trying to play loud, interesting, hard-edged indie-rock. High energy music fueled by anger and frustration, but always redemptive.

"The Black Arrows play rock music that goes a little deeper --- rock music with emotion and without the whine. They leave the backbone in."

"I dunno man. The Black Arrows may have outgrown their name with this new CD of theirs. The Cause For A Curse EP is textbook Arrows: full of angular guitar riffs and lyrics in a pool of semi-darkness. But the excellent production on this disc has really added weight and definition to the band. The Arrows quiver more like missiles now. Yeah, The Black Missiles... I like it. The guitar is big, the vocals ride on top, and the whole vibe is undeniable. The Black Arrows are a vigorous and intense rock band with a pile of influences, some obvious (The Replacements), some not-so (Stevie Ray Vaughn). And yet they still manage to come out sounding like none of them, nor like anything else here in town. Usually a band has to get pretty far out to maintain creative elbow room. The Black Arrows are one of the few groups today to play those elusive, remaining un-played notes --- the ones we wanna hear anyway."
