PADDY ROCK RADIO.com VOTE "LAST SET OF THE NIGHT" NUMBER 12 IRISH/CELTIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR!

"Last Set Of The Night"... The 15 song debut by Bluestack does not disappoint. This no-punches-pulled album is a testament to the undying passion & resilience of the Irish. Few bands have the following or fortitude to release such a record and only the infamous Wolfe Tones come to mind as I listen to the rebel attitude inherent in each and every track. "Please Don't Die Willie Nelson" is an original and hysterically vicous attack on pop music and simply must be heard. The vocal's on the album's opening song "Natives" are astounding and Chuck Berry was right to have this kid open for him, refering to Bluestacks' Irish born frontman Brendan Loughrey. Another gem on this album is "Back Home In Derry", a song fused from the melody of Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald" and the haunting, visionary lyrics of Bobby Sands MP, the first political prisoner to give his life while on hunger strike in Northern Ireland on May 5th 1981. Another track truly worth a mention is "Go On Home British Soldiers", a rebel song if ever there was one and this is the tune that got the guy's barred from EVERY "Fado's Irish Pub" in the United States! Apparently they "upset the English regulars"! Even the CD itself looks and feels like and old vinyl 45 record. Overall, a thought provoking and intensely passionate debut. Explicit lyrics tracks 8 & 14.
