Yeh we got to do it, we got to do it by our self though.
My name is Funmi Akinsanya a.k.a DJ Burn the CEO and Founder of Ascent Entertainment, I was born and raised in Nigeria, West side of Africa on February the 12th 1977, and I fell in love with music at the age of 9. Since then Iâve been singing lyrics on CDs along with musician like R. Kelly, LL Cool J and so on. At age 14, I started
writing my own lyrics and started singing and raping my own song to instrumentals in my high school days.
I came to the United States on the 28th of February 1998 with the intention of pursuing my music career, but my parents wanted me to go to college, which I started in fall '98. I began my pursuit by buying music equipments piece by piece with the little money I made from my after school job, and now I have a whole bunch of sophisticated equipment to make beats and audio tracks (MPC4000 & Pro Tools)
I registered a music business name (Ascent Entertainment) in the summer of 2002 and hooked up with some local boys in the bay area to rap to my beats. Iâve been making beats
since the day I purchased my MPC and I currently have lots of beats unused and more than 100 with songs.Iâm now looking forward to my music being played for Hip-hop fans worldwide. I have confidence in myself and "I know I can" --âNasâ, I have what it takes to make it in the music business, and I fall in the category of an artist/producer, I love to have fun and I do understand that you have to work hard enough to have even a little bit of fun in this world that we live in.
Iâm ready to get this show on the road by making more positive music because I believe music is inspiration, and may be all the Hip hop critics wonât have to much bad things to say about rap music if more positive rap music are made. Thank you for your help and God in his infinite mercy will bless you.
Yours truly,
DJ Burn
