Singer/Songwriter, Lennox "Buppy" Brown, born in Port Antonio, Jamaica was first exposed to music when accompanying his father, a well-known saxophone player, to rehearsals and live performances. This continual contact with the arts fueled his passion to entertain people.
Buppyâs repertoire consists of the universal reggae styles: dancehall, roots and culture, lover's rock, jungle, dance and calypso. He has recently performed before an audience of several thousand people in his native island of Jamaica at the âGuinness Sting 2005â concert along with Beenie Man and Luciano. He's been consistently capturing audiences in some of the hottest nightspots in southern California, including, Hollywood Park Casino, Barfly, Hollywood Highlands, Galaxy Theatre, Club Moomba, 14 Below, Sunset Room and the Key Club. Buppy also participates in annual events and charities like "Best Buddies of California" for the deaf and disabled, a tribute to Dennis Brown, the Prince of Reggae, "Cuts for Kids", for Big Brothers, and "A Taste of the Nation" benefit for the homeless at Universal Studios.
With his rapid-fire lyrics and charismatic stage presence, Buppy's infectious reggae styles have also captivated audiences in Chicago, New York, Miami and Europe, garnering him critical acclaim and a growing fan base across the country. Many of Buppy's songs from his first CD titled âBupatakâ and from his new CD titled âUniversal Reggae Menu Vol.1â can be heard on the soundtrack of BLADE 2 (starring Wesley Snipes) and in major motion pictures such as THE FAN (starring Robert DeNiro), S.W.A.T. (starring Samuel L. Jackson), ENEMY OF THE STATE (starring Will Smith), Seven Seconds (starring Wesley Snipes) and the Tony Scott film DOMINO (starring Keira Knightly). His songs can also be found in many independent films including THA EASTSIDAZ (starring Snoop Dog).
