Biography
Billy has been singing since he was a young boy, when he discovered his father's stereo. Listening to a varied library of records like Jim Croce, Three Dog Night, Jimmi Hendrix and the Beatles. Playing guitar since age 14 and singing all his life, he has been entertaining people for over twenty years. Beginning a professional career in 1987, he began writing songs beginning with "summer rain", a story told of passing a rain storm with some friends. Billy continued writing all different types of songs throughout the following years including as lead singer and songwriter in the funky /reggae band "A Million Tiny Fingers" in their self titled 1994 CD available on a1a digital.com. Billy, with A Million Tiny Fingers or as a solo performer has shared the stage with some greatly known artists such as Carey Bell, Buddy Guy, Delbert McClinton, The Hanson Twins and The Samples. His new solo album entitled ''Sweet Nothings" is a thirteen song track through his creative life. The format is solo accousic guitar performances of his original music. No overdubs and no band. "Just like I would do them on stage at a solo gig." Billy says. The musical styles in The songs range from the folky instrumental Scratchy and the 1930's inspired love song "In The Moonlight" to the poignant and melodic "Love and Be Loved" and "Our Time Is Over". The Southern Rock side of Billy's childhood musical influence is shown in the revealing "Solitary Man" inspired by his oldest son who, on a cold day at the park told Billy; "daddy, if you push me any higher on this swing and my foot will touch the moon". "Land of Smiles", Billy's Calypso anthem cheerfully brings up the rear. Always looking for new musical styles and forever the student of the english language, he continues to write and play music. Stay tuned for the next chapter soon. Billy has three kids and resides in Melbourne Beach, Florida with his wife, Karen.
