Outrageous. Controversial, Dark and Sarcastic - Humor + Melody = DARKPOP
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
Richard Arden is a New York native who spent 8 years in Chicago before moving to the north woods of Michigan to work on musical compositions in his 24 track digital studio. With influences by diverse artists such as Elvis Costello, Frank Zappa, Graham Parker and many others, the ARDEN ATTITUDE is a very original sound that has been described as DARKPOP. The combination of hard nosed sarcasm and skewering of religious and cultural nonsense, along with mostly upbeat catchy melodies is a unique musical vision and highly original. All instruments, compositions and arrangements on "Waiting for the Fatwa" were performed by the artist except for a female vocalist on one song - Cowboy in Brooklyn. The song Gentle Tone-Poem of Love (you're a bitch) is being picked up as a single by numerous radio stations. White Trash captures a cultural phenomenon with humor - see if you can listen without laughing - and is the next projected single. All lyrics are included in the CD. A touring band is currently being put together - hopefully we'll get to see you at a live show......
