Details:
A.G.Olmstead captures the essence of the vintage song.

Part poet, part country boy, Adam Olmsteadâs debut album is reminiscent of old Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams records, full of memorable tunes that range from flirty and frolicking fun-time ditties to heartfelt crooners. Nestled in the sweet spot between Bluegrass, Old Time and traditional Country Music, Adamâs lyrics and delivery will have you swearing he stepped out of the 1940âs, when tunes like these came with a good time guarantee.

Adam crafts tunes from personal experience. He left his home in Eastern Canada as a teen, exploring the cities and back roads of North America, his old Kay jumbo bouncing in his arms as he played his way from one town to another, tune upon tune. Now 31, he has become an unassuming, charming man, easy to like, sure to recall your name. He can pick until sunup, never drop a lyric or repeat a song, and is the last man standing at your party. Heâs an awesome performer who moves everyone who has the good fortune to hear him play.

Impressed with the power of Adamâs songwriting and live performance, veteran producer Alan OâBryant enlisted members of the Grammy-award winning Nashville Bluegrass Band to create an album worthy of these tunes. The CD features the talents of bluegrass favorites Stuart Duncan on fiddle and Andy Todd on bass on all cuts, with Mike Compton and Chris Henry sharing mandolin duty. Dobro master Rob Ickes turns up on several tunes as do a few other friends. And Alan O'Bryant himself handles the banjo throughout. Engineered by Tim Roberts, the result is fully satisfying.

Adam Olmsteadâs new album will scratch your Old Time underbelly where it itches most. Take it for a spin and get ready to smile for a while...
