Details:
How do you tell a good story? How do you create a landscape that carries the story? These are the questions that Aaron and Andrew constantly ask themselves when they are creating a new song. Playing music together since the age of twelve the now twenty-two year old college graduates and Connecticut natives have logged in years of practice and performance to get where they are today. Bringing a sense of maturity to their music along as depth within thier songs; Ask any of the two why they do it and theyâll tell you that it is all about connecting with people, using music, melodies, and lyrics to paint a picture or tell a story that a listener can relate to.
On their debut album âDonât Goâ(2006) Aaron and Andrew truly accomplish what they set out to do. Produced in Nashville by veteran film music editor and composer Joseph S. DeBeasi, the album offers songs that would appeal to a spectrum of listeners. With the lyrical integrity of such artists as Paul Simon and James Taylor along with pop sensibility present in the songs of Lifehouse, David Gray, and Vertical Horizon. The ten-song full band album gives the listener a hint of several of Aaron and Andrews musical influences. From the atmospheric chorus of âDonât Goâ, to the rock guitar sound of âWhat I Needâ along with the bluesy feel of âIsabellaâ and âSayâ topped with the pop catchy songs âTell Meâ and âMore Than Friendsâ. Aaron and Andrew have something for everyone, but yet maintain a sound that is uniquely their own.
Unlike most singer songwriter duoâs, the majority of their show is done with an acoustic and an electric guitar. While Aaron plays the acoustic and sings, Andrew fills the space using his electric guitar to add different kinds of textures and dynamics to the songs. The result is a very full sound, even though there are only two guitars. Since the two have been disappointed in the past at seeing some there favorite artists not sound nearly as good live as they do on their albums, the live show is of great importance to Aaron and Andrew and they donât fail to impress. Aaronâs vocals are just as strong as on the album, and the chemistry between the two guitarists is apparent from the very beginning of the show.
These 22-year-old artists have already started turning heads and gaining ground in the music industry. As several different opportunities have made themselves present to them, the friends have been getting a lot of counsel as to what the next best step is for the duo. In the meantime they have been doing a small coffee house and bar tour in their area, along with gathering musicians to play in their band.
The overall vision that Aaron and Andrew have for all of this is to create good music that is able to connect with as many people as possible. They would both admit that they still have a lot to learn and a ton of room to grow, but they also are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Expect to hear a lot more about these two in the not so distant future.
