John Carlson knew he wanted to be a musician from the young age of 11 years old. With a degree in Saxophone Performance from Northern Illinois University, he worked as a professional musician in Chicago before being invited by a friend in 1987 to attend services at Willow Creek Community Church, on of the largest and most innovative churches in the country. John committed his life to Christ that same year, and it was then that God planted a vision for him to serve the church with his music. John served on staff at Willow for 10 years. His arrangements and playing have been used and heard in churches worldwide. John has also served at churches in Dallas Texas, and presently is Instrumental Music Director at Parkview Church, Iowa City, Iowa. http://www.parkviewchurch.org
