Angela Reedâs music is soulful and engaging. She displays the songwriting prowess of Joni Mitchell, the freedom of Ani Difranco, and the passion of Jeff Buckley with her own unique pop sensibilities. Angela cuts to the core, performs with strength and class, and lyricizes through a voice that is angelically fluid.

Her sound fits comfortably nestled in between such rock and pop
veterans as Sheryl Crow and Marc Cohn, and younger, energetic acts like Brandi Carlile and Guster.

Angela Reed is originally from the Seattle area. She learned to sing and read music at an early age through the internationally award-winning Columbia Choirs. She attended Berklee College of Music (Boston, Mass.) before transferring to Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA) where she received a Bachelor of Music (2004). Her educational career proved her the tools and inspiration to further develop her skills and focus her individual voice as an artist.

Her unceasing drive to create music has allowed Angela to collaborate with other artists, record and perform her music, and continue to grow her ever-expanding repertoire of original songs. She has joined forces with drummer Cody Rahn (War Pigeon/Cuchata), also a Cornish graduate, and bassist Ken Jacobson (seahorse/furtive movement/glass tit and the other glass tit) for performances of spirit and class.

Angela Reedâs debut LP UNDERTONE was produced by Paul Speer and Angela Reed at Rainstorm Studio (Bellevue, WA). Photography by Tom Duke, Curtis Young, and Marilyn Windshaimer, and graphic design by Thad Jackson (Portland, OR). This album includes 11 full-length tracks of Angelaâs original songs, featuring the talents of over a dozen Seattle and NY artists. A few include drummer Cody Rahn, New Yorkâs own pianist/singer-songwriter Kenny White, guitarists Mark Oi and Paul Speer, and string arrangements by Tom Dziekonski. Angela also has a live, solo album, recorded in 2003 available at her live shows for a limited time only. LAST NIGHT IN was recorded and mixed by Paul Hanover and designed by AEM Arts Inc. This recording captures one of Angelaâs first live performances of her original music.
