Details:
Without pretense American Death the three piece alt-country punk rock band from the Midwest has been relying on songs not shtick to fuel their abrasive live performances. Part Nirvana part Johnny Cash, these guys offer a breath of fresh air in a stale music industry rut. Chris Langkamp, John Zysk-Buerger, and Dave Meuhlbauer have been playing in separate bands since the mid eighties before coming together as American Death in late 1998. Inspired by a T.V. show/documentary called "The American Way Of Death" on which American funeral homes were taking advantage of customers at their worst time. Singer/Songwriter John Zysk-Buerger decided to start a band based on the disturbing behavior that undermines American sociology.

American Death disbanded on 9-30-2005 with the death of singer/guitarist/songwriter John Zysk-Buerger in a motorcycle accident on a Milwaukee interstate. He is missed by many, but the music lives on.
