Details:
Aux.78, a solo recording artist from El Paso Texas has released yet another disc that is difficult to pigeonhole. Equal parts Metal, Jazz, and Electronica Aux.78âs latest NIMBUS RELEASE combines harder themes and interesting arrangements. Nicholas Matta aka. Aux.78 has been described as a âmaster of musical emotionâ and doesnât disappoint with his latest CD that mixes and sometimes redefines genre. Nimbus Release is loaded with heavy-handed guitars and electronic textures. Nicholas is definitely showing a heavier side. The majority of the tracks follow Mattaâs mantra of quality instrumental music with strong backbone. Aux.78 intertwines the familiar with new and innovative ideas that keep the listener tuned in. Matta was quoted in Dec 2005, â Iâve got blisters on my fingers! This one (NR) is full of texture. I find myself tracking guitars like a slave to get that right sound.â Aux.78 carefully and beautifully sets the sonic tone of the CD with intricately placed guitar and synthesizer tracks. La Mueka, a female recording artist in El Paso Texas describes the CD as a âpop up book of modern tracking.â All of us in El Paso and those of us familiar with Aux.78âs music know that it is not safe to describe one of Mattaâs releases without mentioning the obvious contrasts and similarities of his other CDs. PASSING BY Aux.78âs 2005 release was hailed as âan independent masterpieceâ and had the support of El Paso music veterans and rookies alike. The overwhelming support of a mixed genre album was surprising to Matta. â I just donât get it. I threw all of this mess into a pot and got PASSING BY. There were too many ideas to throw around and I didnât have any purpose in making sense of it all. Instead of refining the music to fit a specific genre, I let it fly with an anything goes attitude. Passing By proved to me that I can trust my head and do what I think is real and my audience will understand me. Maybe in a thousand different musical languages, but they really get the big picture. Life is on Shuffle!â Passing By infused Free Form Jazz, Dub, Country, Punk, Metal and Spoken Word in an undeniable blend of spirit. NIMBUS RELEASE shows Nicholas Mattaâs darker side while still keeping fans enthralled by musical surprises and directions only limited by Aux.78âs imagination. At this point in Aux.78 musical career anything is possible and as his fans we wait anxiously for whatever new tricks he can pull out of his musical hat. Nimbus Release is sure to be one of 2006âs best independent releases. Check out Aux.78 at www.myspace.com/aux78
