âLove and Honeyâ is a collection of 4 self-penned and produced original songs about love, obsession, manipulation, abandonment, journeys beginning and ending and the fragile human condition.
It is the second release from London born artist Caroline Ty following the debut EP 'The Trap' in September 2009.

âMy music is a fusion of electronic and organic sounds, this âelectro- jazzâ, is a mixture of electronica with bluesy vocals and fat, groovy beats. I like music you can dance to, but there is always a dark undertone somewhere in the chord changes, as if not all is well at the party. I am influenced by musicians like New Order, Massive Attack, Alison Moyet, Depeche Mode and many more besides. I like expressive singers like Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield who tell the story of the song sincerely and without vocal acrobaticsâ.

Caroline Ty was born Caroline Woolrich in London, England to an English father and German mother. The name Ty is a shortening of her motherâs maiden name of Tychewicz.

âMy first introduction to music was from listening to my parentsâ vinyl collection on a wooden record player, a mixture of Elvis, Pink Floyd, the âWar of the Worldsâ soundtrack and lots of orchestral music. I worked in music PR for the likes of Gary Numan, Frank Black, The Fall and Garbage in a converted chocolate factory in Westbourne Grove. I became interested in songwriting and began to write seriously when I moved out of London to Kentâ.

Lyrically, Caroline is influenced by songwriters like Nick Cave, Guy Garvey and Leonard Cohen, who use strong imaginary and rich language: âNo subject matter should be out of bounds, I intensely dislike lyrical clichés in songwriting, the listener shouldnât know what to expect nextâ.

Queen Bee

A song with a message to the Paris Hiltons of this world : 'You can't have everything, not the whole damn lot'.
This pumping dance track with pizzicato strings and a mean and moody bass line is about insecurity and self-obsession.

A Most Charming Thief

Brush beats, piano, guitar and double bass combine with a Cuban flavour to declare: âHave you no shame!â in a song about dangerous men and letting go of a difficult situation.


Whistle and Iâll Come to You

A hypnotic and dreamy track with shades of Massive Attack. The title was inspired by a supernatural ghost story written by M.R. James and is about devotion and willing sacrifice.
