An engaging bassist and thoughtful songwriter, Mintz's musical specialty is collaborating with others to create great original rock. He cites among many influences the Beatles, James Brown, the Allman Brothers, Miles Davis, James Jamison, Sting, U2, Albert Collins, Laszlo Tabar, and Little Darling & the Chilluns.
